Disciplechip Class

POSTED 13 Jul 2009 5:38 PM by Robert Eisenbraun

A number of years ago, some time in my early teens, I attended a series at New City Fellowship (St. Louis), called Sunchip. It was really good. My parents went with me. New City runs these classes regularly. They progress through “team ministry discipleship training,” basing every bit of it on the Bible. I remember my parents thinking highly of it, but I also remember very acutely appreciating the different pastors who presented each night.

Back then I hadn’t been exposed to churches with more than one pastor. It was very interesting to me. I especially liked Jeff McGee. He was cool; full of passion and weird lip angles. I remember specifically feeling like it was one of the first times I understood the Gospel in plain English, and it was inspiring.

But maybe the most important thing I took away from those hours on Sunday nights was the foundation it laid for my appreciation of a healthy snack food.
